COVID-19: Strategy and perspective from the front lines

Date: Thursday, April 16, 2020
Time: 1-2 pm CDT

As COVID-19 began to spread, the focus was on hospitals in the scramble to ensure adequate staffing, beds, equipment, and resources to care for coronavirus patients. In an ill-advised move to help address this, CA and NY State officials announced that nursing homes couldn’t refuse patients coming from the hospital, even if they were COVID-19 positive, and we couldn’t demand testing prior to admission. Given the limited resources our PALTC facilities have to begin with, everyone has been scrambling trying to discern what they should be focusing on.

Hear from Dr. Steven Buslovich, MD, CMD, Co-founder of Patient Pattern and Dr. Michael Wasserman, MD, CMD, President of CALTCM about their front line experience on both coasts.

What you’ll learn:

  • Strategies for minimizing exposure in COVID-19 negative facilities
  • Containment strategies for COVID-19 positive facilities, including testing, staffing and clinical management
  • Top three practical recommendations for facilities facing the COVID crisis
