A piano, rollicking. Seventeen voices rising and falling in harmony. These are the Happiness Singers, a voluntary, community singing group, presenting one of their “Monday Gigs” at a nursing home in Arkansas. These rollicking, joyful singers, some as old as the residents, have performed at every nursing home, hospice, and psychiatric facilities for almost five decades. Residents sing along, dance, wave flags, wear Mardi Gras beads, and above all smile.
