Third graders from Fort Kent, Maine, raised money from a Mother’s Day raffle to purchase flowers for several area nursings homes and Veterans’ Memorial. With the guidance of their teacher and support of a local nursery they created planters of spring flowers and delivered them. Their teacher has been hosting “service learning projects” for many years and says “this is  definitely important for the kids to give back and make a difference in their community”.
