Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), in Buffalo, New York, has the distinction of being the only upstate New York facility to hold the National Cancer Institute designation of "Comprehensive Cancer Center"; and 1 of 47 such centers in the United States. Working with their surgeons, Patient Pattern conducted a Quality Initiative to compare the predictive value of our comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) and Patient Pattern Frailty Score (PPFS) to the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) when incorporated into the preoperative assessment of patients 65 years of age and older facing high-risk cancer surgery.
